I’ve been pretty off the mark with blogging this year. I love the idea of loving to blog again. Not to say that I’ve had an event free year. My micro interactions with the word tend to be documented on my instagram feed recently. Here’s a smorgasbord of shots from the last year. We’ve been getting settled in Dubai nicely…. Read more →
A DragonDrop Adventure Shirt Shot from the tallest building in the world.
Felix, our first boy spent his birthday with us yesterday. We had a tip top day, but the best thing about it was (nearly – with the exception of Jaygo who’s in the UK) that we all spent it together. In the morning, we went to The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, in the afternoon and evening we went on… Read more →
I’m trying out a new wordpress editor. It’s a beta – set to replace the boiled in wordpress editor. The output (the bit you are reading now) will not look any different (in theory) but my writing experience is different. First impressions – it’s clean, it’s intuitive, it’s more like some of the other CMS type editors I’ve used (Squarespace,… Read more →
Entries into The World Famous DragonDrop Adventure Shirt Hall Of Fame are becoming rearer these days – mostly because I’ve run out of t-shirts (I’ll have to do something about that one of these days). It’s great to see a new country appear though: Tibet. Featuring my relatively new friend Thiago. He’s from Brazil, now living in Dubai and working… Read more →
I’ve finally identified and fixed the/a root cause of the hacked site problem I described in the last few posts. It seems that My site was hacked and a piece script was placed in the source code (near the footer) of every page on the site. Because this site is a wordpress hosted site it uses php templates to build… Read more →
I reported that I think this site had been hacked. It’s still got issues – I got locked out for a while – back in the game now though. It seems that some nasty code has been injected into this site: DON’T PANIC It’s nothing that can harm your computer of device – ‘all’ it does it turn some of… Read more →
Up until a day or three ago, it’s been non stop since I landed back in the UK at the end of July. The first few days were spent in Hampshire – near Stone Henge – at Eirene’s uncles house. Big family gathering, camping in the back garden, Huge BBQ (I was chief meat prodder) pints of brown beer at… Read more →
Mysterious things afoot. It looks like dragondrop has been hacked – some of the links around the site lead off to other websites. If you are a hacker attacking not for profit blogs like this, you should be ashamed of yourself. I’ve now got to spend precious family time trying to figure out what the problem is and how to… Read more →
It has been three months since the girls, Jaygo and I moved to Dubai however It feels like so much longer. We have achieved so much in that time and the children have done so well adjusting to their new surroundings. Sophie often says Dubai is like England but with more rules and better weather and I agree with her…. Read more →
We’ve just come back from a camping adventure to celebrate Sophie’s 12th birthday. She’s had a great time – we all have. We stayed at Bin Majid Beach Hotel’s beach campsite. ‘Glamping’ is the term – the 6 person tent was set up for us complete with beds and all the nick-nacks needed to make for a very pleasant stay…. I’ve been photoblogging through instangram. This city is so photogenic. I’ve seen a really amusing phenomenon though – heavyweight selfie errors. Selfie’s are huge here for some reason – I’ve never seen as many people doing selfies. The error though is where (picture the scene) – straight ahead, a beautiful vista or landmark or some such awe inspiring thing. Step… Read more →
