Up until a day or three ago, it’s been non stop since I landed back in the UK at the end of July.
The first few days were spent in Hampshire – near Stone Henge – at Eirene’s uncles house. Big family gathering, camping in the back garden, Huge BBQ (I was chief meat prodder) pints of brown beer at the local thatched cottage pub. A perfect way to reacclimatise.
From there we went to Wales to watch the play that we’ve been in and out of for the last 10 years. It was great to see everyone – and the show (Macbeth) was fantastic. We are normally there for a while longer so we get to see the show being pieced together, but this year we just saw the dress rehearsal then the full show. Felix had a fairly important character to play this year – Donalbain, son of Duncan, King of Scotland.
. After packing up and leaving the idillic setting that is St. Dogmaels Abbey, we headed back to Harrogate. An old friends wedding, a party in a field and stacks of catching up with relatives and friends.
