Today is my birthday. I have come out of hiding today to walk to Ripley and eat icecream for breakfast and eat tapas with Matt for tea. I also lucky to share my birthday with some lovely friends and wish them all a brilliant day too.
Tip top birthday. We’ve just come back from a great feed at The Cattlemen’s Association steak house. Rib eye to die for (well – not really, but it was stunning, as per usual from there). I was blessed with the company of close family. We all had good chinwags and yarns. I’ve had some supermo gifts – a bluetooth speaker… Read more →
Here’s Jay (resplendently sporting his birthday pants on his head). Also featured, a rather freaked out by the whole thing Annie Mo, and a Sophie Pi. Jay has grown up with this website. He’s had pretty much all of his birthdays documented in some way. I created DragonDrop.org about a year before he was born but at the time of… Read more →
Big ol’ BBQ for for 12 kids and their parental support crew. It rained a bit. For a while, but the sun came out, the people turned up and the food was eaten. It’s turned into a tradition – having a bbq for Sophie’s birthday (her actual birthday is today). I was going to write a blog about the amazing… Read more →
We’ve just had a surprisingly chilled 7th birthday party for Sophie. Big thanks to R & F who’ve spent days getting loads of activities together for the 6 girls. First craft activity – name badges! This helped the adults know who was who and made the little ones feel a bit special. Then, they made party bags; Followed by a round of… Read more →
At the weekend we headed out to to top left hand corner of Yorkshire to celebrate Jaygo’s 10th birthday. We wanted to make it brilliant for him – regular readers will know he’s had a rough old time this year. I think I can safely say we ticked all the boxes. Jaygo wanted a camping weekend. A couple of years ago we… Read more →
Don’t know quite how we did it – but we managed to get a traditional 5 year olds birthday party into the mix for today! There’s a very short video here
On Saturday night after a nearly full on Matt Spesh we went camping. It’s getting harder to find a campsite that fulfils my exacting standards these days but I enjoy the hunt. One that allows fire is an absolute must for me. I’ve banged on about this so much before, I’ll spare you the rhetoric but lets just say it’s a… Read more →
Jaygo rides The Ultimate, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. One of the many highlights of Jaygo’s birthday weekend extravaganza. Here we are just before the second dip at ‘ The Ultimate’ – a rollercoaster at Lightwater Valley theme park – North Yorkshire, UK. I smell wild garlic.
Having a little breather for a couple of hours before we carry on with Jaygo’s birthday weekend. We started on Friday night with a game of rounders on the stray that we were invited to. This was really good fun for everyone. Rounders, BBQ, cake and catching up. This photo shows the line up – little to big selection process…. Read more →
Sunglasses, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Felix, Sophie and Jaygo on the morning of Sophie’s 4th birthday. A HUGE influx of pink things for our little pink person. She’s a very happy Pi.
24/10/2009, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. He’s 11. That came round quick. The fantastic cake pictured here was a wholeheartedly chocolaty number, featuring the word FELIX. It didn’t take long for it to say F_LI >, followed by F_l , followed by . . He had a sleep over with his best friends. 1am was the last time I tried to… Read more →
Jay’s Birthday BMX, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. It’s Jaygo’s 8th birthday today. A massive milestone as far as I’m concerned because we deemed that the appropriate age in our house that one is allowed to make cups of tea (heavy schedule of training to follow). He was pleased at punch with the object (partially) under wraps here – a BMX… Read more →
