Spent an evening in the beautiful Hotel Majestic Harrogate last night. I was taking photos of a corporate awards do and after party and helping out my mate Allan with a bit of tech. Free steak and bar was quite a draw. It’s a while since I’ve covered a gig like that. Funtastic. Good band, and bumped into an old mate who used… Read more →
It’s this beautiful girl’s 1st birthday today. I shot this, this morning (the photo – not the dog). I’ve discovered this great little tool called Storify. I’ve used to to build a story of Elsie’s first year. It’s kind of a scrapbook, with a timeline. Given that I spray content all over the internet, it’s possible to find photos, videos… Read more →
So I’ve gotten hooked on (yet another) social network. Instagram. I love taking photos and have often invested unhealthy volumes of time experimenting and attempting to make photos look different – eg buying a camera from Russia, buying out of date (“dead-stock”) film off ebay, taking a bunch of photos with it and having it cross processed. Instagram takes years… Read more →
In all the 6 years or so I’ve been driving across The Wharfe every work-day, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it quite as full as it was on Friday. Fi and John’s wedding was the next day, at The Red Lion in Burnsall – right on The Wharfe. There were genuine moments of worry the night before the big event… Read more →
I love summer. It’s my favourite day of the year (boom boom!). This summer (as featured over the weekend we’ve just had) was a peach. Blue skies and hot. We were so happy that we’d arranged to go camping. Our destination was How Stean Gorge near the top of Nidderdale. A gorgeous place with a beautiful gorge and cave system running alongside… Read more →
I pretty much squeezed my whole weekend into one day. I was up at the crack of dawn and deep in in the Dales first thing on Saturday – dropping Jaygo off for a Scout challenge called Tohunga. Whilst I was in the area I thought I’d go for a walk with Elsie (a dog). As the river was close to… Read more →
Elsie won a rosette!, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Elsie won a rosette!
The weekend was fun. It involved two birthdays – the first of which was a garden / house party. Dogs and kids very welcomed. People with exactly the same footware (pictured above – me and Ricky), also welcomed. I think at one point there were 7 dogs and at least twice as many kids. Hard to tell them apart at… Read more →
Jaygo by a canal in Goole, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. If you put Goole into Google it comes back with Google. If you click the search instead for Goole, it comes back with a bunch of info on an inland port in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We went there yesterday to visit Felix’s friend and family. Had a lovely… Read more →
dog crocus dew sunrise combo, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Lovely. The sun is now well and truly up on my 7am dog walk now. Yesterday morning was glorious. Beautiful sun, a bit of dew on the grass yet to be burned off and both the dog and I had a Spring in our step. A weekend of Dubstep on Friday… Read more →
Snow day on Sunday. Elsie (Springador pup) pulled a sled. A harness (rather than a collar) was attached to to the dog at one end and a sled at the other and hay presto. Sophie loved it. Eislie loved it. She had a job to do and she was very proud of herself for doing it. Good dog. Tonight I… Read more →
Eirene took me on a surprise weekend away last weekend, and a very nice weekend it was. It’s been a while since we spent the weekend, sans kids. We did take the smallest of our brood with us though – Elsie (pic’d above) – our 12 week old Springador – who got her first official walk and was suprisingly excellent off the lead… Read more →
Last night we went to a ‘Puppy Party’. This was an informal dog socialisation class at Vets4Pets in Harrogate. It was ace. Elsie got a chance to get all giddy with other pups and play with some cool toys.
She’s doing well. First weekend. No bother with Fireworks we’ve discovered – we took her with us to see the incredible 50th aniversary display of Fireworks on the Stray in a baby sling and had an emergency bail out plan for if she didn’t like it but didn’t bat an eye lid. Probably something to do with her being (at… Read more →
Jay and Elsie – more of my photo’s tagged Elsie. We visited our pup to be yesterday. An adorable springador / labradinger / labradaniel (the elaborate monikers for a Labrador / Springer Spaniel Cross). An experience akin to going for a 20 week scan or something. You get to see her, but not quite time to take her home. We… Read more →
