A lomography fisheye is a marvellous bit of kit. It’s got a 170 degree super wide angle lens. I’d loaded it with an out of date roll of German film called Paradises 200, stuck a ringflash on the front with 4 different coloured gels over the flash heads. Mashed up colours and shapes. It makes an ‘ordinary’ object, like a… Read more →
As far as social networking goes, flickr is undoubtedly, my all time fave. It’s defiantly the network I’ve spent the most time on. Like so many other flickreenos, photography is something I’ve been ‘into’, boder-line obsessed with, since I was an early teen. Flickr is purpose built for people like us. Within its sprawling archive of billions of photos, people like me… Read more →
These photos are not edited – they are ‘straight out of the camera’. I’d used slide film – Fujichrome Provia 100f and asked a lab to process it through standard C41 process chemicals. The obliged. The results are this strange colour cast – greenish with punchy reds. I like it. It’s called ‘cross processing’ or XPRO for short. A really constructive,… Read more →
Unexpectedly, I got two disks in the post this morning. A couple of weeks ago I’d posted a couple of film off to be processed – one of which, I’d forgotten about for years. The nerdy short-hand of what’s going on here: Deadstock Provia tranny, shot with a SMENA 8M and a Lomo Fisheye with colour ringflash Xpro’d through C41…. Read more →
Its the weekend (hoopla!). Friday night and I’ve just accomplished the fixing of a camera. Inspired by my post ‘shoots some film’ from a few days ago, I dug out two 35mm cameras. The Smena 8M on closer inspection was broken. I think I’ve managed to fix it by taking it apart, working out how it’s simple but utterly logical… Read more →
When I was a early to mid teen, photography used to be my #1 passion in life, it’s still fairly high up there. A conversation at lunch today reminded me about something that I’ve long since not experienced; the wait. The erstwhile several days you had to wait between taking a photo and seeing the photo, whilst the boffins in white… Read more →
So I’ve gotten hooked on (yet another) social network. Instagram. I love taking photos and have often invested unhealthy volumes of time experimenting and attempting to make photos look different – eg buying a camera from Russia, buying out of date (“dead-stock”) film off ebay, taking a bunch of photos with it and having it cross processed. Instagram takes years… Read more →
93780030, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. SO I wonder what this dog intends to launch. I’ve just uploaded a load of images into my flickr space that I took on my LOMO smena 8m and cross processed.
ice cream, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Got my film back today – containing the first attempt / roll of film from my ‘new’ camera (a 30 year old Lomo smena 8m) For this shot I used expired tranny / slide film and had it cross processed. Very strange results – these are un altered. Other stuff to report – I’m… Read more →

Arrived in’t post when I got in was a new bit for my camera, Pilot Wings 64 for the N64 and this Lomo Smena-8m smena 8m, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. I ordered this about a month ago and it arrived (from Russia) today. I… Read more →

Got another film back shot with my Lomo Fisheye: I’ts the cinema near our house. Owning a Lomo gets you membership to the lomographic society. I’ve been padding out my Lomohome. Apart from that I’ve been flat out with work. Still working in Runcorn.
Wow! just got a film back form the shop (long time since I’ve done that!) with a roll of stuff I shot with one of my Birthday prezzys (thanks Simes!) – a Lomographic Fish Eye Camera What an ace toy it is! click for biggy Well better get back to it – working at HIC today (just on lunch now)….
