Despite all my research, operation 'varnish the kitchen floor', has encountered a problem. When I excitedly went downstairs to look at my newly varnished floor, I was devastated to discover the varnish had dried to a milky finish, like my floor had cataracts.After ringing the Dulux centre for advice it appears I painted too much varnish on to floor boards. The gentleman explained I only needed to apply a very thin coat of varnish. I wish they had said before I applied it. Now I shall have to resand the floor and start again. Ah well, live and learn and I will just have to chalk it down to experience.
