We're just in from seeing Gang Show at The Royal Hall. The cast included our very own Sophie who joined scores of others from the Cubs, Beavers, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownie and Guide fraternities of Harrogate. The…

- Gang Show Harrogate 2013
An evening with Karl CulleyAt the weekend, I was fortunate enough to catch Karl Culley playing headline in a 'one night only' sell out show in The Harrogate Theatre. I've been a fan of Karl's for years now - and was really excited about the…
Culley, Dragonfly and SmithIf I had to compile a list of 'top events I've looked forward to in 2013', this would be fairly high up on the list. Certainly single figures. Two of my fave local acts of all time (it may well be three by the end of…
- Jakes Unplugged
I'm not sure if having an accidental shower in champagne at the start of an evening is a good omen or not, but I took it as one, and my hunch, it turns out, was right. It perhaps wasn't quite so good for the poor guy…
- We're off out tonight
Writing a quick blog now as we’re off out later. Yep, we as an Eirene and I. The first time Eirene will be leaving Annie with someone since she was born nearly 1 month ago. Our night ahead sounds quite spesh – we’re off…
OntSofa.comWhat Ontsofa.com makes, is fairly easy to summarise; Content for their 8.6million-view-in-just-over-a -year-strong YouTube channel of musicians performing whilst sat on an old Chesterfield sofa. What makes Ontsofa.com,…
Further adventures in fisheyeA lomography fisheye is a marvellous bit of kit. It's got a 170 degree super wide angle lens. I'd loaded it with an out of date roll of German film called Paradises 200, stuck a ringflash on the front with 4 different…
Benefit show for SkateistanWe went to a leaving do in Leeds last night. Another never before experienced format of an evening for us; a benefit gig and art auction raffle for a skateboard based charity. Wharfe Chambers - the utterly unique venue…
- Just on the off chance
It's possible I may not get chance to blog later, as we're planning on a Leeds outing. Al and I are in the midst of recording tonight's RIFE radio show, which if you happen to be reading this around the hours of 20:00 -…
DragonFly Tattoo EP LaunchThere's one constant quality of art that's hard to describe. Originality. There isn't a readily available frame of reference because no one has done what they are doing before. This can either mean original 'crap',…
- Dream Raving
Just been in a dream where I was at a rave. On the fringe part, near a bar with some benches and people. I took the part of an older dude where the younglings asked me about raves of old. Megadogs and Manchester I told…
RIFE RADIOSo, I've had this project bubbling away for a few months now. Myself and a friend DJ a weekly radio show. I've not talked about it at all on DragonDrop so far. I guess I'd been waiting till it hit critical mass -…
Hymn for her and meIv'e just had a birthday. A stupendous day where I coincidentally picked up a new (to me) car, had the day off work to spend with my fantastic wife and went out for a meal. What I thought was going to be a nice steady…
- DragonGate Photo Slideshow
I've been playing with a tool called Snapseed to get this 'look'. I quite like it. I'ts given the whole thing a bit of a dreamlike quality. It all does feel like a bit of a dream now though. haahhh Thanks to Rob B for…
DragonGate Festival 2012What a splendid festival that was. I'll get the hick-ups out the way first up - the main one being the lack of main stage drum kit early doors, having a knock on effect (combined with a couple of other factors * ),…
